Mohammed El-Kurd is an award-winning Palestinian poet, writer, journalist, and organizer from occupied Jerusalem.
Named one of TIME Magazine's 100 most influential people in 2021, he co-founded the #SaveSheikhJarrah movement and currently serves as The Nation's first Palestine Correspondent.
His debut poetry collection RIFQA (2021) was widely acclaimed and shortlisted for the Forward Prize.
He holds an MFA from Brooklyn College and a BFA from SCAD. El-Kurd has received numerous honors including the Cultural Freedom Fellowship from the Lannan Foundation and lectures internationally, including keynoting Princeton University's Edward Said Memorial Lecture.
