Ragnar Jónasson is an Icelandic author best known for his award-winning Dark Iceland series.
Born in Reykjavik, he works as a writer, lawyer, and copyright law professor at Reykjavik University.
His debut novel Snowblind became a number-one Amazon Kindle bestseller and was praised by The New York Times as a "classically crafted whodunit." From age seventeen, Jónasson translated fourteen Agatha Christie novels into Icelandic, heavily influencing his writing style.
He co-founded the Iceland Noir crime writing festival and has published short stories in Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine, becoming the first Icelandic author featured there.
His books have been translated into numerous languages worldwide.
