Charles R. Cross is a rock music journalist and author based in Seattle, Washington.
A graduate of the University of Washington with a degree in Creative Writing, he served as editor of The Rocket, a celebrated Northwest music magazine, from 1986 to 2000.
Cross founded Backstreets magazine, dedicated to Bruce Springsteen, and has written for numerous publications including Rolling Stone and Esquire.
He is the author of several books, including the New York Times bestseller Heavier Than Heaven and Room Full of Mirrors: A Biography of Jimi Hendrix.
During research for the latter, he notably rediscovered the lost gravesite of Jimi Hendrix's mother.
