Marcie R. Rendon is an enrolled member of the White Earth Anishinabe Nation, whose rich cultural heritage deeply informs her writing.
A multifaceted creative, she works as a writer and performance artist, and is also a mother and grandmother.
Rendon received the Loft's Inroads Writers of Color Award for Native Americans and studied under acclaimed Anishinabe author Jim Northrup.
She has written across multiple formats, including the children's book Pow Wow Summer, published by the Minnesota Historical Society Press in 2014, and her debut novel Murder on the Red River, along with the subsequent Cash Blackbear mystery series.
