Pierre Lemaitre is a celebrated French novelist and screenwriter, best known internationally for his crime novels featuring Commandant Camille Verhœven.
His debut English-translated novel, Alex, co-won the CWA International Dagger for best translated crime novel in 2013.
In November 2013, Lemaitre received France's most prestigious literary award, the Prix Goncourt, for Au revoir là-haut (The Great Swindle), an epic World War I novel.
His works Camille and The Great Swindle further won CWA International Daggers in 2015 and 2016, cementing his reputation as a master of both crime fiction and broader literary storytelling.
