Andrés Neuman was born in Buenos Aires to Argentine musician parents — a violinist mother of Italian-Spanish origin and an oboist father of German-Jewish heritage.
He relocated to Granada, Spain at fourteen, where he studied Hispanic Philology and later taught Latin American literature.
Neuman began his career as a poet and short story writer, debuting in 1998.
His novels earned increasing recognition, with his fourth novel cementing his reputation as one of the foremost contemporary Spanish-language writers.
Celebrated by Roberto Bolaño as "touched by grace," he has received numerous prestigious awards and been selected by Granta among the best young Spanish-language authors.
