Garry Wills is an American author, journalist, political philosopher, and historian who specializes in American history, politics, and religion, with particular expertise in Catholic Church history.
He won the Pulitzer Prize for General Non-Fiction in 1993.
Wills has authored over fifty books throughout his career and has been a regular contributor to The New York Review of Books since 1973.
He joined Northwestern University's history department in 1980 and currently holds the position of Emeritus Professor of History, continuing his influential work in American historical and political scholarship.
