John Katzenbach is an American author of psychological thrillers and popular fiction.
Son of former U.S. Attorney General Nicholas Katzenbach, he began his career as a criminal court reporter for the Miami Herald and Miami News, also writing for the Herald's Tropic magazine.
He later became a featured writer before leaving journalism to focus on novel writing.
Katzenbach has authored 12 novels, achieving international success.
His 1982 debut bestseller In the Heat of the Summer became the film The Mean Season starring Kurt Russell.
Three other novels were adapted into films: Just Cause, Hart's War, and The Wrong Man (French film).
He is married to Madeleine Blais and resides in western Massachusetts.
