Liz Hyder is a writer and creative workshop leader based in South Shropshire, England.
Originally from London, she now lives in a small medieval market town surrounded by hills, books, and plants.
In 2018, she won The Bridge Award/Moniack Mhor Emerging Writer Award.
Her debut young adult novel, Bearmouth, achieved remarkable success, winning The Times Children's Book of the Year (2019), Waterstones Children's Book for Older Readers (2020), and the Branford Boase Award (2020).
It was also shortlisted for the UKLA Awards and nominated for the CILIP Carnegie Medal.
The Gifts, published in February 2022, marks her debut novel for adults.
