Gavin Christopher Newsom is the 40th Governor of California, elected in 2019.
Previously, he served as California's Lieutenant Governor (2011-2019) and San Francisco's mayor (2004-2011), becoming the city's youngest mayor in a century.
An entrepreneur, he founded the PlumpJack wine store, which expanded into the PlumpJack Group managing over 20 businesses including wineries, restaurants, and hotels.
Born and raised in San Francisco, Newsom attended Santa Clara University.
He lives in Fair Oaks, California with wife Jennifer Siebel Newsom and their four children.
Diagnosed with dyslexia as a child, this experience inspired his children's book, Ben and Emma's Big Hit.
