Maria Reva was born in Ukraine and immigrated to Canada during childhood, experiencing the dual perspective of diaspora that deeply informs her work.
She earned her MFA from the prestigious Michener Center at the University of Texas, where she honed her distinctive literary voice.
Her fiction has appeared in prominent publications including The Atlantic, McSweeney's, and Best American Short Stories, earning her a National Magazine Award for excellence in writing.
Beyond prose, Reva works as an opera librettist, demonstrating her versatility across artistic forms.
