Pier Ril' Bottero was born in a poppy field beside Lake Chen during the coronation year of Sil' Afian I. His modest family—father a shellfish fisherman, mother a secret-seeker—provided a joyful childhood building treehouses, chasing mythical clochinettes, and dreaming.
His destiny shifted upon encountering a prairie tiger; facing certain death, young Pier closed his eyes and imagined the predator as a harmless plush toy.
He survived and began writing, using words and storytelling magic to recapture that intoxicating certainty that anything is possible through willpower.
He reportedly sleeps with a large plush tiger on his bed, scratching its ears nightly.
