Linda Wagner-Martin is Frank Borden Hanes Professor of English and Comparative Literature Emerita at UNC-Chapel Hill.
Over her 53-year teaching career at Wayne State, Michigan State, and UNC, she authored and edited over 55 books, including biographies of Sylvia Plath, Ernest Hemingway, Toni Morrison, and Maya Angelou.
Her scholarly work encompasses American literature histories and postmodernism studies.
She has received prestigious honors including the Guggenheim Fellowship, Hubbell Medal for Lifetime Service to American Literature, and fellowships from the National Endowment for the Humanities and Radcliffe Institute.
Wagner-Martin continues publishing prolifically after retiring in 2011.
