Sven Beckert is the Laird Bell Professor of History at Harvard University, where he co-chairs both the Program on the Study of Capitalism and the Weatherhead Initiative on Global History.
His research focuses on nineteenth-century United States history, particularly capitalism's economic, social, political, and transnational dimensions.
