Berta Dávila, born in Santiago in 1987, is a celebrated Galician poet and novelist who demonstrated exceptional talent from a young age, winning the Premio Biblos-Pazos de Galicia for writers under 21.
She has published poetry collections including Corpo baleiro and Raíz da fenda, the latter earning the prestigious Johán Carballeira, Spanish Critics', and AELG prizes.
Her narrative works include the short story collection A arte do fracaso, translated into Spanish and Japanese, and the novel O derradeiro libro de Emma Olsen, which won both the Repsol brief narrative prize and the Ánxel Casal award.
She was named Author of the Year by the AGE in 2014.
