Kishore Mahbubani (born 24 October 1948) is a distinguished Singaporean academic, diplomat, and public policy expert.
He currently serves as Professor in the Practice of Public Policy at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore, where he previously served as Dean until 2017.
His diplomatic career spanned 1971-2004 with Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including serving as Singapore's Permanent Representative to the United Nations.
During his UN tenure, he presided over the Security Council in January 2001 and May 2002, bringing extensive international relations experience to his academic work and writing.
