Bernard Taylor was born in Swindon, Wiltshire, and resides in London.
Following Royal Air Force service in Egypt, he studied Fine Arts in Swindon, Chelsea School of Art, and Birmingham University.
He worked as a teacher, painter, and book illustrator before moving to the United States, where he discovered acting and writing.
He has published ten novels under his own name, including The Godsend (1976), adapted into film, and the critically acclaimed Sweetheart, Sweetheart (1977).
Taylor also writes fiction under the pseudonym Jess Foley and has earned awards for true crime writing and playwriting, including a residency at Queen's Theatre, Hornchurch.
