Melissa Blair
Melissa Blair (she/her/kwe) is an Anishinaabekwe author of mixed ancestry residing on Turtle Island, dividing her time between Treaty 9 in Northern Ontario and the unceded Algonquin Anishinabeg territory in Ottawa, Canada.
She holds a graduate degree in Applied Linguistics and Discourse Studies.
Blair maintains an active BookTok presence where she champions Indigenous and queer fiction, feminist literature, and non-fiction.
Her debut novel, A Broken Blade, launched The Halfling Saga series.
Through her writing, she incorporates elements of her Indigenous culture and focuses on representation including neurodivergence, disability, and LGBTQ+ themes while exploring complex topics like colonialism and identity.
