Robert Macfarlane is a celebrated British nature writer and literary critic, educated at Nottingham High School, Pembroke College Cambridge, and Magdalen College Oxford.
Currently a Fellow of Emmanuel College Cambridge, he teaches in the Faculty of English there.
He has authored numerous prize-winning, bestselling books exploring landscape, nature, people, and place, including Mountains of the Mind, The Wild Places, The Old Ways, Landmarks, and Underland.
His work has been translated into many languages and adapted for film, television, stage, and radio.
In 2017, he received the EM Forster Prize for Literature from the American Academy of Arts and Letters.
