John Owen was an English theologian widely regarded as the greatest theologian of the English Puritan movement and one of the finest European Reformed theologians of his era.
He is considered to have possessed possibly the finest theological mind England ever produced.
Known for his profound understanding of the human condition and biblical saturation, Owen's writings demonstrate what J.I. Packer described as "massive grandeur" through "solid simplicity." His prose, while challenging and sometimes described as plodding, reveals a pastor's heart that pierces the conscience while applying gospel truth.
Owen earned the title "Great Doctor of the Soul" for his penetrating spiritual insight.
