Arturo Pérez-Reverte Gutiérrez is a Spanish novelist and former war correspondent who reported on conflicts worldwide for twenty-one years (1973-1994), working for Pueblo newspaper and Spanish television TVE. This experience influenced his writing, particularly Territorio Comanche about the Bosnian war.
He debuted with the 1983 historical novella El húsar, but gained recognition with 1988's The Fencing Master.
