Daniel Reid is an American author specializing in Chinese culture and traditional medicine.
Born in 1948 in San Francisco, he spent his childhood in East Africa.
Reid earned degrees in East Asian Studies and Chinese Language and Civilization from UC Berkeley and the Monterey Institute of International Studies.
He lived in Taiwan for 16 years, studying Chinese medicine and Taoist health practices.
Reid later moved to Thailand, continuing his research and writing.
In 1999, he immigrated to Australia's Byron Bay region with his wife Snow, where he currently resides.
His work focuses on bridging Eastern wisdom with Western understanding.
