Ken Ilgunas is a Canadian-born author and adventurer who grew up in Wheatfield, a small town in western New York.
After graduating college with significant student debt, he embarked on a journey to pay it off through unconventional means, including working in Alaska and living in a van while attending graduate school at Duke University.
These experiences formed the basis for his memoir, "Walden on Wheels." Ilgunas' writing often explores themes of minimalism, self-reliance, and questioning societal norms.
Currently, he splits his time between tending a friend's garden in North Carolina and traveling across the country in his van, continuing to embrace the alternative lifestyle he advocates in his work.
