Srdja Popovic is a Serbian political activist and the executive director of the Centre for Applied Nonviolent Action and Strategies (CANVAS).
He gained prominence as a leader of Otpor!, the student movement that played a crucial role in overthrowing Serbian president Slobodan Miloลกeviฤ.
Popovic has since become an internationally recognized expert on nonviolent resistance and democracy building.
He has shared his knowledge and experiences through teaching positions at prestigious institutions such as Harvard Kennedy School, NYU, and the University of Colorado.
