Elwin Cotman is a speculative fiction writer originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
He holds a BA from the University of Pittsburgh and an MFA from Mills College.
He is the author of three short story collections: The Jack Daniels Sessions EP, Hard Times Blues, and Dance on Saturday.
His work has appeared in publications including Electric Lit, Buzzfeed, and The Southwestern Review.
His fourth collection, Weird Black Girls, was published by Scribner in 2024, with his debut novel, The Age of Ignorance, forthcoming from Scribner in 2025.
He also writes on Substack.
