About the Author

David Eddings was an American fantasy author known for his best-selling epic series. His wife, Leigh Eddings, was an uncredited co-author on many of his works. The couple faced controversy when they lost custody of their adopted children and served jail time for child abuse in 1970. Eddings began his career writing general fiction before finding success in fantasy. He was known for his direct approach to writing and readers. In 2007, Eddings accidentally burned a portion of his office and manuscripts. His wife passed away the same year, and David Eddings died in 2009 at 77.
