About the Author

Marie Darrieussecq was born in 1969 in the Basque Country. She completed her PhD in French Literature while writing her debut novel, Pig Tales, published in 1996. The book's success allowed her to focus on writing full-time. Darrieussecq has published multiple novels with POL. She has been married twice, first to a mathematician and then to an astrophysicist. She has two children, born in 2001 and 2004. Darrieussecq is politically engaged, having endorsed Ségolène Royal's presidential candidacy in 2007. Her work often explores themes of transformation, identity, and societal critique.
