Spirit Life Training

1. You are a three-part being: spirit, soul, and body.

A person is a spirit who possesses a soul and lives in a body.

Divine design. God created humans as unique, three-part beings: spirit, soul, and body. Unlike plants (body only) or animals (body and soul), only humans possess an eternal spirit, designed for communion with God and to move in the spiritual realm. This spiritual nature is the core of who you truly are, destined to live forever.

Spiritual death. The original sin in the Garden of Eden severed humanity's spirit from God's life source, leading to spiritual death. This cut off the natural ability to move freely and healthily in the spiritual realm, much like violating a physical law can lead to physical death. Understanding this foundational truth is crucial for spiritual training.

Restoration's promise. Through Jesus Christ, God offers complete restoration for all three parts of your being. Salvation isn't just a spiritual concept; it's a pathway for God's presence to manifest in your soul (happiness) and body (health), not just your spirit (holiness). This holistic restoration is God's design for you.

2. Align your being in divine order: spirit as king, soul as servant, body as slave.

Now, in applying this divine order of restoration of God’s Kingdom design for our being, we must place the spirit as king, the soul as the servant, and the body as the slave.

Re-establishing hierarchy. God's original design for humanity placed the spirit in authority over the soul and body. Sin corrupted this order, often leading to the body or soul dominating the spirit. Restoring this divine hierarchy is essential for fulfilling God's purpose and experiencing true victory.

Roles defined.

• Spirit (King): Possesses complete authority, rules, directs, gives commands, owns resources.
• Soul (Servant): Provides information, ensures the king has resources, acts as ambassador and steward.
• Body (Slave): Carries out orders without question, has no personal will, prioritizes the king's desires.

Kingly authority. As redeemed individuals, you are made "kings on the earth" in the spiritual realm, ruling over forces that influence natural kings. Your kingly spirit submits to Jesus, the King of kings, allowing you to dominate the natural through the spiritual. This authority is a gift to be exercised.

3. Discipline your body to be a supernatural conduit for God's power.

God wants our bodies.

God's love for your body. Your body is an "Earth suit," uniquely crafted by God for life on this planet. God loves your body and desires its presence in a powerful way, making it a temple for the Holy Spirit. This divine connection allows your physical body to become a supernatural conduit for God's power and presence.

Supernaturally tuned senses. When your body is aligned with your spirit and the Holy Spirit, your five senses can become supernaturally enhanced. You can:

• See: Beyond the surface, discerning spirits and future events.
• Hear: Discern deception, faith, pain, or even thoughts in voices.
• Taste/Smell: Sense spiritual characteristics like greed or holiness.
• Feel/Touch: Pinpoint sickness, distinguish divine, angelic, or demonic presence.

Body's desires vs. purpose. Your body naturally craves food, sex, and comfort—essential for survival, but without inherent wisdom. Left unchecked, these desires can become tyrannical, leading to self-destruction and hindering your spiritual growth. Your responsibility is to care for and command your body, presenting it as a "living sacrifice" to God, strong and healthy for His service.

4. Master your emotions by doubting feelings and aligning with God's truth.

The first key to controlling our emotions is to doubt them.

Emotions as fuel. Emotions are the most vocal part of your soul, capable of overriding other elements. When aligned with God's feelings (joy, sorrow, anger, compassion), they can be powerful catalysts for divine action, as seen in Jesus' ministry. However, ungodly emotions lead to instability and control.

Rollercoaster of instability. Ungodly emotions create a "rollercoaster" life, dictating actions and commitments based on fleeting feelings rather than truth. This addiction to emotional highs and lows, often fueled by entertainment, can manipulate and destroy relationships and purpose. Emotional control is a powerful weapon, for good or ill.

Control through focus. To master emotions, doubt their reality and actively control them. Change your focus, and your feelings will follow. Like David, command your soul to "hope in God" even in desperate situations. Boldly declare "I will rejoice!" or "I will love!" to push your emotions into alignment with God's Word, transforming them into fuel for good works.

5. Humble your intellect to God's wisdom and be ready to obey.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

God's intelligent design. God is an intelligent, systematic being, and He designed your intellect for discovery and practical application of His Word. Creation itself reveals His thoughts, and He expects you to use your brain, asking questions and seeking understanding.

Pride of the corrupt mind. An ungodly intellect rebels against God, challenging Him, thinking it knows better, or refusing obedience until it fully understands. This pride leads to defensiveness, cynicism, and a lack of hunger for new revelation or deeper obedience. Like the Pharisees, it judges by appearances rather than truth or fruit.

Pathway to divine wisdom. Humble your intellect, acknowledging God's perfect knowledge. Ask Him questions, trusting He will answer. Be open to new revelation, knowing that obedience often precedes full understanding. As you align your will to do God's will, revelation will come. This humility attracts God's grace and allows your intellect to reason with the Holy Spirit, leading to wise conclusions.

6. Train your memory to recall God's Word and past victories, not past failures.

The Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My Name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

Identity and decision-making. Your memory is the powerful key to your self-identity and the foundation for all decision-making. It stores every experience, thought, and emotion, shaping who you believe you are. The Holy Spirit desires to be in charge of your "mental hard drive," pulling up vital information for victory.

Prisoner of the past. An ungodly memory can make you a prisoner of past failures, mistakes, and offenses, paralyzing progress and poisoning future attempts at success. It can crystallize negative emotions into your personality, forming strongholds against God's truth. This "virus factory" of the soul must be dealt with swiftly to prevent deeper spiritual damage.

Wellspring of strength. A trained memory becomes a catalyst for faith, thanksgiving, joy, hope, love, and courage. God repeatedly commands you to remember His Word and past works, as these become the foundation for present and future faith. Like Paul, choose to "forget those things which are behind" and press forward, actively programming your memory with God's promises and victories.

7. Develop your imagination to visualize God's promises and future success.

The human imagination is the preparation tool for building into the realm of the spirit.

Mental teleportation. Your imagination is a powerful, God-given tool that allows you to go places, do things, and possess things before they physically manifest. Every human invention and achievement began in someone's imagination. Developing it expands your mind's borders and breaks mental limitations, shaping your future.

What you "see" is what you get. A negative imagination creates "strongholds" of negative self-image and foresees negative outcomes, driving disobedient actions. Conversely, connecting your imagination with the Spirit of God allows you to vividly visualize God's promises fulfilled in your life and others. This isn't fantasy; it's preparing your mind for reality.

Flight simulator for faith. Use your imagination as a "flight simulator" for God's Word. Visualize yourself laying hands on the sick and seeing them recover, succeeding in challenging situations, or experiencing deeper intimacy with God. This vivid mental picturing stimulates hope and faith, making miracles feel less surprising and more like expected outcomes, just as Jesus envisioned mountains moving.

8. Unleash your will's power by saying "yes" to God and "no" to the devil.

The human Will... has the final authority over what will happen in the human body, soul, and spirit.

Unchained by salvation. Your Will is the strongest part of your soul, the gatekeeper of your entire being. Salvation unchained the human Will from sin's bondage, restoring its power to choose. The devil's primary strategy is now to influence your Will through temptation, but your Will has the unilateral power to resist.

The power of "yes" and "no." Your Will feeds on these two most powerful words. Saying "yes" to God opens access for Him to work in your life, while saying "no" to the devil creates a spiritual boundary he cannot cross. This forceful use of "yes" and "no" strengthens your Will, allowing your true self to rise and take charge.

Aligning with God's Will. God will not violate your free Will; He has sovereignly chosen to let you know His written Will and given you the choice to release it. Aligning your Will with God's Will, as Jesus did in prayer, is the key to unstoppable victory. This alignment energizes you to "will and to do for His good pleasure," making obedience simpler and more powerful.

9. Build a strong spirit by feeding on God's Word, worship, and prayer.

The spirit just keeps getting stronger and stronger as it is released more and more.

Spirit's nourishment. Your spirit, the "treasure in earthen vessels," grows stronger as it is fed. It hungers for:

• God's Word: Hear, read, write, memorize, and meditate on it with intensity. This imparts life, strength, and energy, shaping your spiritual reality.
• Worship: Release your spirit heavenward, exalting God's attributes and intimately "breathing in" who He is to you. This intensifies His presence and transforms you.
• Prayer: Engage your spirit in fervent prayer, knowing your righteous position and God's Will. This is a direct communication line to God.

Praying in tongues. This unique form of prayer bypasses the limitations of your natural mind, allowing your spirit to speak "mysteries" directly to God. It opens a "hotline" to the Spirit of God, building up your spirit and allowing your soul to discover what God is doing from the inside out.

Obedience and fighting. Your spirit gains strength through obedience to God's commands, especially during temptation. Each choice to obey, even when difficult, imparts fresh energy. Furthermore, actively fighting the devil with the "sword of the Spirit" (God's Word) sharpens and strengthens your spirit, making you an aggressive force against evil.

10. Embrace resistance as a catalyst for spiritual breakthrough.

More importantly, it is the resistance that is going to push us to the point of our miracles, the point of our breakthroughs, the point of releasing the strength in the spirit part of us.

Beyond self-imposed limits. When you encounter resistance during spiritual training—whether it's discomfort, frustration, or a feeling of "I can't do that"—it's a sign you're approaching a breakthrough. This resistance isn't a problem; it's the pressure building before a "sonic boom" of spiritual acceleration.

Unveiling hidden barriers. Resistance reveals the barriers your flesh and soul have erected around your spirit. These feelings are the voices of rebellion being challenged, perhaps for the first time. Instead of retreating, recognize this as a positive sign that junk is being brought to the surface to be dealt with.

Stepping stone to miracles. Like Bartimaeus crying out "all the more" when resisted, embrace opposition as a force that pushes you deeper into faith and strength. Resistance separates the serious from the slackers, building the necessary spiritual muscle to break through to miracles. Seek the path of most resistance in your training, for there lies the greatest and quickest change.

11. Learn to release your spirit to activate God's miraculous power.

At this moment, when Jesus released His spirit, a chain reaction of the miraculous took place.

The ultimate release. Jesus' act of "yielding up His spirit" on the cross, even in His darkest hour, demonstrates the apex of spiritual release. When your flesh is reckoned dead to self and your soul fully submitted, your spirit is poised to be released, speaking with authority that shatters obstacles and declares "It is finished!"

Chain reaction of the miraculous. Releasing your spirit initiates a powerful sequence of divine manifestations:

• God's Presence: The "veil" of fleshly barriers is torn, and God's tangible presence breaks out.
• Situations Shift: Impossible, immovable situations "quake and split," revealing God's power.
• New Life: Dead hopes and destinies are restored to life and vibrancy, visibly transforming individuals.
• Sons of God Revealed: Doubters acknowledge your divine sonship as God's glory saturates your life.

No boundaries in the spirit. Your spirit is "a thousand times bigger" than your physical body. By consciously choosing to release your spirit, you can fill a room, influence people and spiritual forces, and send your spirit ahead to prepare an atmosphere for healing, peace, or conviction. This is the true purpose of your spirit: to address humanity's primary needs and do God's will in the earth.

12. Cultivate an intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit has nothing better to do than to have a relationship with you.

Beyond mechanics. Spiritual training isn't just about mechanics; it's about a personal relationship with the Holy Spirit—your Teacher, Helper, and Friend. This relationship, based on mutual love, openness, integrity, and regularity, brings Christianity out of religion into vibrant reality.

Believe He is near. The Holy Spirit is invisible but ever-present. Cultivate "God-consciousness" by continually acknowledging His presence in every ordinary and extraordinary situation. He is activated when acknowledged, always ready to communicate and participate in your day.

Don't fear His voice. Overcome the fear of what the Holy Spirit might say. He is good, and His words are always for your help and deliverance, never condemnation. Expect Him to speak, even ordinary things, and trust that His voice will bring freedom and direction, guiding you into all truth.

Perfect your skills of intimacy. The Holy Spirit loves response and delights when you mirror His actions, attitudes, and emotions. Respond to His "inward witness"—the "yes," "no," or "be alert" feelings deep inside. Sing to Him, express your love, and allow your unique "romantic ability" to draw Him closer, intensifying His presence and filling you with His intoxicating love.
