David Baldacci began writing in childhood when his mother gave him a notebook to record his stories.
He published his debut novel, Absolute Power, in 1996, which became a film starring Clint Eastwood.
Baldacci has since published 52 adult novels and seven for younger readers, all becoming national and international bestsellers.
His books appear in over 45 languages across 80+ countries, with over 200 million copies sold worldwide.
Beyond writing, he's a devoted philanthropist who established the Wish You Well Foundation with his wife Michelle to support family and adult literacy programs.
A lifelong Virginian, he graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University and University of Virginia School of Law.
