Sophie Keetch holds a BA in English Literature from Cardiff University, where she studied Arthurian legend.
Welsh by origin, she lives in South Wales with her husband and son.
For her debut novel, she was drawn to Morgan le Fay after observing how the character became increasingly villainous as her story was retold through history — always by men.
Keetch felt a deeper, more complex story existed beneath Morgan's infamous reputation and set out to give voice to the real woman behind the myth, exploring her contradictions with empathy and nuance.
