Thomas Keller is an acclaimed American chef, restaurateur, and cookbook author known for his landmark restaurants The French Laundry in Yountville, California, and Per Se in New York City.
He has received numerous James Beard Foundation awards, including Best California Chef (1996) and Best Chef in America (1997).
Keller made culinary history as the only American chef to simultaneously hold three-star Michelin ratings for two different restaurants, achieving this distinction when both The French Laundry and Per Se received three stars in their respective inaugural Michelin Guides in 2005 and 2006.
