About the Author

Stephen Edwin King is a renowned American author born in 1947. Raised by his mother after his father's departure, King spent his childhood in various locations before settling in Durham, Maine. He graduated from the University of Maine in 1970 with a B.A. in English. King married Tabitha Spruce in 1971 and worked various jobs while writing short stories. His first professional sale was in 1967, and he continued to sell stories to men's magazines. In 1971, he began teaching English at Hampden Academy while writing in his spare time, eventually becoming one of the most successful and prolific authors in the horror and suspense genres.
