As matter organizes itself into more complex forms, it also gives rise to more intense and integrated mental activity. This suggests that consciousness isn't just a byproduct of complexity, but a fundamental property of the universe, present in rudimentary forms even in the simplest elements.

Evolution's Trajectory. The evolution of matter, therefore, is not just a story of increasing complexity, but also of increasing consciousness. 2. The "Within" and "Without" are Intertwined

Since the stuff of the universe has an inner aspect at one point of itself, there is necessarily a double aspect to its structure, that is to say in every region of space and time-in the same way, for instance, as it is granular: co-extensive with their 'Without', there is a 'Within' to things.

Beyond Materialism. Traditional science focuses primarily on the "without" of things – their external properties and measurable interactions. However, this approach neglects the "within" – the subjective, experiential dimension of existence. This inner aspect, most evident in human consciousness, is not an isolated phenomenon, but a fundamental property of all matter, albeit in varying degrees.

Panpsychism. This perspective aligns with panpsychism, the view that mind-like properties are present throughout the universe. It suggests that even the simplest particles possess a rudimentary form of consciousness, a potential for subjective experience. This "within" is not directly measurable by current scientific methods, but its existence is inferred from the continuity of evolution and the emergence of consciousness in complex organisms.

Bridging the Divide. Recognizing the "within" of things allows us to bridge the gap between the physical and the spiritual, the objective and the subjective. It suggests that the universe is not a collection of inert objects, but a network of interconnected entities, each with its own unique perspective and potential for growth. This holistic view is essential for understanding the phenomenon of man, who embodies the highest known expression of this intertwined "within" and "without."

3. The Earth's Early Chemistry Paved the Way for Life

If the organic had not existed on earth from the first moment at which it was possible, it would never have begun later.

From Inorganic to Organic. The early Earth, with its unique chemical composition and energy sources, provided the ideal conditions for the emergence of organic molecules. These molecules, more complex than their inorganic counterparts, formed a "temperate zone of polymerization" where water, ammonia, and carbon dioxide interacted under the sun's rays. This zone was crucial for the development of pre-life.

This process was not a random occurrence, but a directed operation in which an original impetus slowly becomes exhausted.

This perspective emphasizes the continuity of evolution, where each stage builds upon the previous one, leading to the emergence of increasingly organized and conscious forms of matter.

4. Life Emerges as a Critical Transition

In a coherent perspective of the world: life inevitably assumes a 'pre-life' for as far back before it as the eye can see.

The Cellular Revolution. Life, properly speaking, begins with the cell. This ultra-complex unit, both chemically and structurally, holds the secret to the connection between the worlds of physics and biology. The cell is the natural granule of life, just as the atom is the natural granule of simple, elemental matter.

From Mega-molecules to Micro-organisms. The transition from mega-molecules to micro-organisms represents a critical point in evolution. This transition involved a coming to maturity, a threshold, a crisis of the first magnitude, the beginning of a new order. This is not a simple continuous process, but a metamorphosis.

A New Dimension. The advent of life marks the appearance of a new dimension in the universe. This new dimension is the "within" of things, the subjective, experiential aspect of existence. 5. Life Expands Through Reproduction, Variation, and Association

Spiritual perfection (or 'conscious centreity') and material synthesis (or complexity) are but the two aspects or connected parts of one and the same phenomenon.

The Power of Reproduction. At the heart of life's expansion lies the mechanism of reproduction, where cells divide and give birth to similar cells. This seemingly simple process fuels the multiplication of life, allowing it to spread and colonize new environments. Reproduction is not just about maintaining the status quo; it's also a source of variation.

Variation and Adaptation. Through processes like conjugation and mutation, life constantly generates new forms and adaptations. This variation allows life to explore different possibilities and find solutions to the challenges posed by its environment. The combination of reproduction and variation creates a dynamic system where life is constantly evolving and adapting.

The Importance of Association. Association, the grouping of living particles into complex organisms, is another key driver of life's expansion. By working together, cells can achieve greater levels of organization and complexity, leading to the emergence of multicellular organisms and societies. This process of association allows life to overcome limitations and achieve new levels of functionality.

6. Evolution is Driven by Both Tangential and Radial Energies

We shall assume that, essentially, all energy is psychic in nature; but add that in each particular element this fundamental energy is divided into two distinct components: a tangential energy which links the element with all others of the same order… and a radial energy which draws it towards even greater complexity and centricity…

7. Thought Marks a Threshold of Reflection and Unification

Consciousness is completely evident only in man… therefore, half-seen in this one flash of light, it has a cosmic extension, and as such is surrounded by an aura of indefinite spatial and temporal extensions.

It's the ability of consciousness to turn in upon itself, to become aware of its own existence and its place in the universe. This capacity for self-awareness is what distinguishes humans from other animals.

8. The Noosphere: Earth's Emerging Sphere of Thought

In fact I doubt whether there is a more decisive moment for a thinking being than when the scales fall from his eyes and he discovers that he is not an isolated unit lost in the cosmic solitudes, and realises that a universal will to live converges and is hominised in him.

A New Layer. The emergence of thought has led to the formation of a new layer on Earth, the noosphere. This "sphere of mind" encompasses all human thought, knowledge, and culture. It's a collective consciousness that is constantly evolving and expanding.

Interconnectedness. The noosphere is not just a collection of individual minds; it's a network of interconnected thoughts and ideas. Through communication, collaboration, and the sharing of knowledge, humans are creating a global brain that is capable of solving complex problems and shaping the future of the planet.

The Future of Evolution. The noosphere represents the next stage in evolution. It's a sphere of collective intelligence that has the potential to guide the future of life on Earth. By harnessing the power of thought, humans can create a more sustainable, equitable, and fulfilling world for all.

9. Love is the Ultimate Energy for Hyper-Personalization

Love in all its subtleties is nothing more, and nothing less, than the more or less direct trace marked on the heart of the element by the psychical convergence of the universe upon itself.

10. Omega Point: The Universe's Pull Towards Unity

In such a vision man is seen not as a static centre of the world’s he for long believed himself to be — but as the axis and leading shoot of evolution, which is something much finer.

A Cosmic Destination. The universe is not just expanding outwards; it's also converging inwards, towards a point of ultimate unity and consciousness. This point, called Omega, represents the culmination of evolution, the final destination of all things. Omega is not just a theoretical concept; it's a real force that is shaping the universe and drawing it towards its ultimate destiny.

Transcendence. Omega is not just a point of convergence, but also a point of transcendence. It's a state of being that is beyond our current comprehension, a state of hyper-consciousness and hyper-personalization. Reaching Omega requires a fundamental transformation of our understanding of ourselves and our place in the universe.
